Achillea Summer Sun

Achillea millefolium Summer Sun is a radiant perennial known for its vibrant golden-yellow flower clusters. Commonly referred to as Yarrow, this variety is celebrated for its long bloom period throughout the summer. Its feathery, fern-like foliage complements the flat-topped flower heads, creating a harmonious visual appeal.

Beyond its beauty, Summer Sun is a hardy plant, it is able to withstand dry conditions. It's also a favorite among pollinators, attracting butterflies and beneficial insects.

Grows to approx. 75cm x 75cm.

• Trimming: Cut back faded flower stems and trim to maintain a neat appearance throughout the growing season. In late autumn or early spring, cut back old growth to ground level to encourage fresh growth.
• Fertilising: Achillea thrives in low-nutrient soil, so fertilisation is generally unnecessary. If needed, apply a balanced fertiliser sparingly in early spring.
• Watering: Water young plants during establishment. Once established, Achillea is drought-tolerant and rarely needs additional watering except during prolonged dry spells.
• Pest Control: Monitor for aphids and spittlebugs. Remove pests by hand or use insecticidal soap as necessary.
• Disease Management: Watch for powdery mildew (white, powdery coating on leaves), especially in humid conditions. Improve air circulation and water at the base to avoid wetting the foliage. Apply a fungicide if needed.
