Camellia Dr Clifford Parks is a striking evergreen shrub admired for its large, vibrant flowers and glossy dark green foliage. This variety showcases impressive, semi-double flowers in a rich, bright red. Flowering from late winter to early spring, these flowers create a dramatic and eye-catching display against the lush leaves.

Dr Clifford Parks is well-suited to various garden styles, including traditional cottage gardens, modern landscapes, and woodland settings. Its stunning flowers and attractive foliage make it an excellent choice for mixed borders, foundation plantings, or as a standalone specimen. This camellia thrives in partial shade and prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil with consistent moisture. It benefits from a sheltered position to protect it from harsh winds and direct, scorching sunlight.

For optimal growth, space Dr Clifford Parks plants about 1.5 to 2 metres apart. Mature shrubs can reach a height and spread of 2 to 3 metres, forming a dense and gracefully shaped plant. With its magnificent flowers and glossy foliage, Camellia Dr Clifford Parks is an excellent choice for adding year-round beauty and seasonal interest to your garden.

Trimming: Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushy growth. Remove any dead or damaged branches to keep the plant healthy.

Deadheading: Remove spent flowers to promote new flowers and maintain a tidy appearance.

Fertilising: Apply a specialised camellia or acid-loving plant fertiliser in early spring and again in mid-summer. Avoid over-fertilising to prevent damage to the roots.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the establishment phase and dry periods. Camellias prefer well-drained, acidic soil. Mulch to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Pest Control: Watch for aphids, scale insects, and spider mites. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil.

Disease Management: Be vigilant for signs of root rot, petal blight, and leaf gall. Ensure good air circulation, avoid overhead watering, and apply appropriate fungicides if necessary. Remove and dispose of any infected plant material responsibly.
