Sedum mediovariegatum

Sedum mediovariegatum is a compact, evergreen succulent known for its fleshy, variegated leaves featuring green margins and creamy-white centres. In late Summer to early Autumn, clusters of soft pink star-shaped flowers appear above the foliage, adding gentle colour and attracting pollinators. Its tidy, low-growing form and year-round foliage interest make it a versatile choice for dry, sunny spaces.

Ideal for rock gardens, coastal, Mediterranean, or contemporary styles, Sedum mediovariegatum is perfect for edging, containers, green roofs, or as a groundcover in free-draining soils. It thrives in full sun and is highly drought-tolerant once established. Space approximately 25-30 cm apart to allow for natural spreading.

Forms a low, spreading clump approximately 15 cm high and 30 cm wide.

Trimming: Trim back any leggy or untidy growth in late winter or early spring to maintain a compact, attractive form. Remove any dead or damaged stems as needed throughout the year.

Deadheading: Not essential, but removing spent flower heads can tidy the plant and may encourage a cleaner appearance.

Fertilising: Sedums require minimal feeding. Apply a light dose of balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring if growth is weak. Avoid over-fertilising, as this can lead to floppy, overly lush growth.

Watering: Water sparingly. Allow soil to dry out between waterings-mediovariegatum is drought tolerant and sensitive to overwatering, especially in cooler months.

Pest Control: Generally pest-free. Occasionally susceptible to aphids or mealybugs-treat with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil if needed.
