Anemanthele lessoniana, commonly known as Wind Grass, is a graceful, evergreen to semi-evergreen perennial grass native to New Zealand. It features fine, arching foliage that changes colour throughout the seasons, from green to bronze, and then to a stunning golden-orange in autumn.

In the garden, Anemanthele lessoniana is ideal for adding movement and texture to planting schemes. It works well in mixed borders, as a specimen plant in gravel gardens, or in contemporary and native garden designs. The plant's feathery, flowing form creates a soft, dynamic element in the landscape, and its changing colours provide year-round interest.

Wind Grass thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. It is tolerant of a range of soil types, including sandy and clay soils, and once established, it is relatively drought-tolerant. This grass does not require close planting as it naturally forms clumps; spacing of about 60-90cm apart will allow each plant to develop fully and display its elegant form.
