Buxus Green Gem, commonly known as Green Gem boxwood, is a compact and hardy evergreen shrub. It is valued for its dense, rounded growth habit and small, glossy, dark green leaves making it a staple in formal garden designs.

Green Gem is a popular cultivar that is often used for low hedges, borders, and topiary due to its ability to be easily shaped and trimmed. This boxwood is well-suited to both formal and informal garden styles, including cottage and contemporary gardens, where it can be used to define spaces, create symmetry, or add evergreen structure.

Green Gem boxwood thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, fertile soil. It is relatively drought-tolerant once established and can tolerate a range of soil pH levels and has excellent disease resistance and tolerance to cold weather. For a continuous hedge, spacing should be around 30-40 cm apart, allowing the plants to grow together and form a dense, uniform barrier.
