Viburnum Davidii - End of Crop
Free Shipping on Orders $250 or more
Viburnum davidii is a hardy evergreen that has white flowers with dark blue centres, healthy green leaves and compact form make it fantastic for mass planting. Very low maintenance and is suited to just about any soil condition. Grows to 1.5m x 1.5m.
Trimming: Prune lightly in late winter or early spring to maintain the desired shape and remove any dead or damaged branches. Light pruning can also be done after flowering to encourage bushier growth.
Deadheading: Remove spent flowers to tidy the plant and potentially encourage a second flush of flowers.
Fertilising: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in early spring to support healthy growth. An additional feeding in mid-summer can be beneficial, especially in poorer soils.
Watering: Water regularly during the establishment phase. Once established, Viburnum davidii prefers consistently moist soil but can tolerate short periods of drought. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.
Pest Control: Monitor for common pests such as aphids, scale insects, and viburnum beetles. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil if necessary.
Disease Management: Watch for signs of fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and leaf spot. Powdery mildew appears as a white, powdery coating on leaves, while leaf spot shows as dark spots on foliage. Ensure good air circulation and avoid overhead watering to minimise fungal issues. Ensure proper soil drainage to prevent root rot, and remove any affected leaves to prevent the spread of disease.
